Inlays and Onlays
Non-Invasive Restorations for Damaged Teeth
Inlays and onlays are recommended by our dentists when a patient’s tooth is fractured or corroded but has not lost its structure has no need for added support of a dental crown. Inlays and onlays work better on minimal to moderate dental issues.
Made from porcelain materials, inlays and onlays when fused together with current teeth will closely resemble your natural teeth for a more beautifully even look.
Inlays vs Onlays
Inlays and onlays differ in size. While inlays are inserted in the middle of a tooth extending from the front to the back, onlays extend further with much of it covering more of the affected area and being able to envelop broken sections of the tooth.
Inlays and onlays are called indirect dental fillings. With indirect fillings, when prepared a smaller tooth structure is removed and the restoration is built to fit firmly within the existing framework of the tooth.
